A lifelong Long Islander with deep roots in the East End, Amos’ family first settled in Springs in the 1950s and has remained ever since. Born in New York City, Amos first felt the sand and sun of Long Island at four days old, spent much of his childhood there, and after stints working in Washington and New York City, returned home to Long Island several years ago.
Amos lives in Springs and is involved in many local political and civic activities across Long Island.
Professionally, Amos has strived to make American businesses efficient and competitive at home and abroad. He has worked to secure private sector investments in our aerospace and defense industries to catalyze new technologies to protect our troops, deter adversaries, fight terrorism, and produce strong and affordable defense and intelligence capabilities for our country. His work has resulted in billions of dollars in revenue and thousands of American jobs saved, including many on Long Island.
Amos has long been drawn to public service and has worked as a corporate and political strategist, finance professional, and defense analyst for the U.S. military, the private sector, and the 2012 Romney Presidential Campaign. In 2013, Amos founded Forward Long Island, a political organization which played a decisive role in a number of critical state and county races in 2014.
He is an avid hunter, sportsman and motorcyclist, and a proud member of the Maidstone Gun Club in East Hampton, the Springs Community Advisory Council, and other civic and fraternal groups.
Amos holds a graduate degree from Georgetown University and completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science at the University of Chicago.
